Technology
I’m an IT Manager who takes a lot of pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. I manage and maintain the systems, servers, and infrastructure that support our firm, from network equipment to data security. I also handle support for about 185 users through our ticketing system, making sure issues are resolved quickly and reliably. My goal isn’t just to fix problems—it’s to build a solid IT foundation that helps everyone do their best work.

Software
VMWare vSphere, Microsoft 365, Windows 11 Deployment and Management, Active Directory, Server 2012-2024, Microsoft Administrative Tools, Sophos, Rapid 7, Veeam, ManageEngine, Google Workspace, MySQL, NinjaOne, ConnectWise, PowerShell, ConnectWise, ShareFile, Snipe-IT

Networking
RDWeb, GPO, Cisco & Aruba Switches, CAT Cable Wiring, LAN & WAN Technology, IP Office Phone System, Ubiquiti Unifi WiFi, Sophos & SonicWall Firewall

Backup & Disaster Recovery
I take backups and disaster recovery seriously—because when something goes wrong, having a solid plan is what keeps things running. I’ve built out backup strategies using Veeam and Wasabi for secure, cloud-based protection, and I use NinjaOne to monitor systems and catch issues early. Microsoft 365 data protection and SOPs documented in Notion are all part of my approach.
I’ve also worked with tools like DUO Security and Sophos to layer in security and endpoint protection, making sure recovery doesn’t just work—but works safely. Whether it’s prepping for worst-case scenarios or just making sure daily backups are happening the way they should, I’m always looking to tighten things up and keep data safe.

IT Management & Operations
As a a Senior IT Manager with a strong focus on leading projects that improve systems, security, and the way people work. I’ve managed a wide range of initiatives for a 185-user accounting firm, including:
- Microsoft 365 Migration: Led the move from Google Workspace, including a smooth rollout of Office apps.
- Firewall & VPN Upgrade: Replaced SonicWall with Sophos, launched new VPN and spam filtering.
- ERP Cloud Migration: Project-managed our move to cloud-based Deltek Maconomy, including AR and invoice customizations.
- VoIP Phone System: Replaced the aging on-prem phone system with a modern IP-based solution.
- Wi-Fi Overhaul: Replaced outdated wireless gear with Ubiquiti UniFi APs across multiple offices for faster, more reliable coverage.
- Security & Backup: Implemented cloud backups with Veeam and Wasabi, ran security training programs, and enforced best practices with tools like Sophos, DUO, and NinjaOne.
- Infrastructure Cleanup: Simplified and modernized our server and network setup—reduced server count, streamlined network paths, and installed a point-to-point link to our remote office.
- Remote Access System: Built a Microsoft RDWeb setup so remote staff could securely access internal apps and systems from anywhere.
I like solving problems, leading change, and keeping things practical.
About Me
I grew up in the mountains of Upstate New York near Albany, went to school for film and media studies in Buffalo. Worked in TV broadcasting and now work in business technology for over 13 years.

Photography
I have a passion for landscape photography. All of the photographs features on this website are taken by me.

Video
I’ve spent a lot of time on the subject of film and video production.
Staff Training & Communication
I put a lot of focus on making IT easier for people to understand and use. Whether it’s creating short training videos, writing up quick how-to guides, or running custom sessions on Microsoft 365 apps, I try to meet people where they are. I’ve built out our IT onboarding process, trained new staff, and developed SOPs and request forms to keep things organized and clear.
When it comes to communication, I keep things simple, direct, and (when I can) a little fun. I lean heavily on TL;DRs, avoid corporate-speak, and always aim for messages that people will actually read. I’ve written firmwide emails, project updates, newsletter tips, and documentation that make tech less frustrating and more useful.

Soft Skills
I’m big on creative problem solving and staying calm under pressure. I take pride in being dependable, organized, and easy to work with. Whether I’m leading a project or jumping in to help with a last-minute issue, I stay focused, flexible, and solution-minded. I’m a strong team player, manage my time well, and always try to bring a practical, down-to-earth approach to whatever I’m working on.
